DAY7: THE POWER THAT MAKES SUPERHEROES

2Timothy1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline

When I was a child, I really admire SUPERHEROES! Not just because of the cool outfit, but because of their above-normal given abilities and power to save oppressed and the needy. Most of the time nga, deep inside my head, I’m wishing to be one. As a human being kasi, I really feel limited (HAHA)! As much as I want to do this or that, I can’t kasi tao lang ako! L

T’was then that I realized something way important than being a SUPERHERO, when I became a CHRISTIAN. I realized that it was God who gave abilities to people by His own grace and the reason why a lot of people are exceling in their field of interest is because they are using their God-given abilities to its full extent! Also, I realized that when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I received a POWER that no superhero could ever acquire (that is if they surrender their life to Jesus too! J)

Luke 9:1

When Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them the power and authority to drive out demons and to cure diseases

I believe God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Right? So I believe that the God who gave POWER to the disciples 2000 years ago is the same God that we are serving today! And whether sabihin natin na yung power that God gave you is to DRIVE OUT DEMONS or CURE DISEASES or MAYBE WALA DUN SA DALAWA, God is telling us one thing; HE HAS GIVEN US AUTHORITY THROUGH JESUS! SO WHY NOT USE THAT GOD GIVEN POWER THAT YOU HAVE TO ADVANCE HIS KINGDOM? God wants us to maximize our God-given abilities and use it on its PURPOSE!

Romans 12:6-7

6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

These gifts could be the power that God has enabled us to do! And it is clear in this scripture that God is giving us an instruction to use these gifts on its PURPOSE! At some point, people are intimidated and often compares him/her to another person! But God is telling us that these things that God gave us was given to us out of His grace! So, sa madaling sabi, pantay pantay ‘tong mga gifts na ‘to! People are just exceling because they are using theirs. How about you? Are you using your powers wisely? If not, then why not start today! And experience how God will use that to advance His kingdom J
