DAY9: THE FIRE THAT PURIFIES

This 15 day devotional is really encouraging! J It’s was a big help for me to realize a lot of things! J (Sana 30 day na lang ‘to. hehe)

Fire is such a powerful element. It can either destroy or transform. Fire, when mishandled, can destroy many homes and property. But when it is put to good use, it can cook food, kill bacteria, or bring out the purest gold.

As you make Jesus the Lord of your life, expect Him to do purifying work in you. Yes, the fire may still hurt but you can trust that the One who wields it is after your own good, to bring out the best in you and take away the dross. Endure the momentary pain and discomfort to allow God to transform you into the way He made you to be.

Hebrews 12:7-11

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Since the day I became a Christian, I have stepped on a pruning process! Syempre, masakit kaya! Ikaw kayang I prune! Hehe. There are lots of pain felt especially when the thing that you need to surrender to God is one thing that matters to you for some time! There were times of hesitations, doubt or even disobedience, but I always end up giving it to God! It started happening 3 years ago and is still happening right now! But at some point, di nga lang some point eh! BIG POINT, I came to thank God more for making a new me through these pruning that I experienced! As I give those things to God, He replaced them with a lot of things that are more important than what I had! Not just that, He replaced the pain with assurance! Yeah! You will experience pain but there is an assurance that God will be there to help you and won’t let you down J

I am very thankful that God let me experience these things! J Just like what Hebrews 12:11 said; No discipline seems to be pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. God, I’m excited for the fruit of every pruning that you’re doing in me :D. I’ll be forever thankful for what you are doing in my life J ALL FOR YOU JESUS!
