Wohoo! Just got home from a great GEAR-UP YOUTH SERVICE at Victory Lucban! Grabe! Haha, I wasn’t able to check out the devotion due to a busy day but IT WAS WORTH IT! J Even though I have only 30 minutes to write and post this blog, I CAN DO THIS! I know that God is here in my midst.. haha just like what He did kanina sa service!! Wooooooooooo! Awesome! J
Who finds saying “no” to sin or temptation easy? It is naturally hard for us because human nature is inclined to it. However, as we make Jesus the Lord and Savior of our lives, our human nature is transformed. God provides us the power through the Holy Spirit to say “no” to sin.
Why is it worth the effort to reject sin? Jesus has ransomed for us on the cross our inheritance of a victorious life and an eternal life—the blessed hope that we can enjoy today and look forward to. This is a far greater benefit than what sin offers us which is temporal pleasure yet with inevitable consequences.
May His grace and promised hope encourage you to live a holy and upright life every day!
11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ ...Titus 2:11-13
I loved how Pastor Ryan Tan described sin during the Pre-conference of Ignite Conference! It’s like a chocolate-covered POOP! Haha! At some point, it really makes want to laugh out loud, but thinking more, I kinda realized that it’s true! We tend to laugh whenever we hear jokes regarding sin but the truth is, IT’S A BATTLE! Whether we say that what we did was just a WHITE LIE; it’s still a sin! God said “do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world”, but its kinda difficult not to conform especially if we are from this world. BUT GOD IS COMMANDING US TO! SO WE NEED TO J
I am so thankful to the GRACE of GOD for enabling us to say NO to UNGODLINESS, syempre without it, we would FALL! And in order for His grace to fall upon us, we need to have a close relationship with Jesus! As a Leader, I am not always strong, most of the time nga eh, ako yung weak, pero great thing about God is that He always restore me by His grace and every moment I face the same situations again, there is a conviction in my heart everytime I do it; THAT IS THE POWER OF GOD working in our hearts! By His GRACE, we can say no to ungodliness! J
