DAY5: YOUR UNIQUE CALLING

We often admire people who excel in something like sports, music. Academics, and so on. This ought to inspire us and not cause us to envy. Instead, this should not spur us into finding our own niche and grow in our talents.

God, our Maker, has made each one of us unique and deposited in us various talents. He left is with the task of growing in these abilities and determining how and where to use them. As each one has unique skill sets, this accompanies the different calling that is set aside only for us. Take time to celebrate God’s masterpiece in you and appreciate the talents He has given you. Use these talents to glorify God and to heed the unique call He has placed in your life.

Romans 12:4-8

4Just as each of us has one body with many members and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we are from one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Before, whenever I see people that is better than me, or have lots of better talents than me, I tend to be discouraged! “Siguro sa isip ko, di naman nila ako kailangan kasi mas magaling sila sa ‘kin”. T’was then that I realized that God has deposited in us unique gifting! As far as I know, the word “unique” is synonymous to the word “distinct”, meaning only you has that! It is true that there are many great singers in our time today, but what God meant by the being unique is that YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SING THAT WAY! Not just in singing, it is also true in dancing and any other talents that we have.

6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. (Romans12:6); I was really encouraged by this verse! Knowing the fact that the talents/gifts that was given to us is all out of God’s grace, then, NO ONE CAN ACTUALLY BOAST ABOUT HIS/HER GREAT TALENT! I also thought to myself, “the reason why a lot of people are being known in their own field of talent is because, THEY USE THEIR GIFTS TO ITS FULL EXTENT”. So if they can do that, I believe there’s NO WAY that we can do that too!! J

This is Krystle Jove Yague! I met her last year at Victory Pioneer. You know what, at her young age, she’s ushering people into God’s presence by Worship Leading at their congregation! The fact is that, she’s one of the reasons why I stepped out in a whole new level of worship leading. I told myself, “Kung nagagawa nya ‘to, why can’t I, anyways, it’s still God who’s going to reign in what were doing”. So the moment that I got home, I stepped out on my comfort zone and started leading in our youth and Sunday services at Victory Lucban. i really don’t know if I’m that effective, but hey I’m not doing it for that. I’m doing it to advance God’s kingdom! J

è Let’s always be thankful to God for giving us these unique gifting and as early as now, let’s do our best to use these gifts to its full extent! J
