DAY11: WHEN UNDER PRESSURE, WHAT COMES OUT?

4 Days to go before I could finally say bbye to this devotional! Parang kelan lang, I was on day4 and now, I’m 4 days away before finishing my Ignite Daily Devotional J. Due to the loss of internet connection, I wasn’t able to post this on the prescribed date, but even though things like that happened, I’m still going to finish this! J

7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. -> 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

In the olden times, they use a perfume called nard usually contained in an alabaster jar to anoint their dead. The alabaster jar is usually broken to release its powerful fragrance. A jar of this very expensive perfume was the one used by a sinful woman in the Bible on Jesus’ feet to her express her worship unto Him.

We are under pressure every day and there are those that we can fairly handle on our own. But how about the times when it gets too much to contain, what comes out of our hearts? The way we respond to pressure depends on what is inside of us. When God, who is greater than any pressure the world can throw us is in us, we will not be crushed! This greater pressure inside sustains our hope and helps us not to give up easily.

Continually pray that when we face hardships, what comes out of us will not be the stench of unbelief and rebellion, but the sweet scent of trust, surrender, and worship.

I can relate much to this topic! Wow! It’s actually amazing how God made me prepare to write a blog to this topic J. I just got home talking to Medith Ballon of Victory Lucena. We spent time at Jollibee till midnight eh just talking of the things that God is preparing in her leadership! She has just been appointed as the Head/Overseer of the Creative Team for Victory Lucena’s youth Service. Funny thing is that she responded anxiously to this great opportunity that would stretch her Faith and commitment to God. I just addressed to her some encouraging facts that God has been doing at Victory Lucban (C’mon! Gen1 as Youth Ministry heads and Gen2 as the Lifebox officeers)! J As I talked to her how the YOUTH are empowered at Victory Lucban, (I’m not sure how she responded to that. haha) I just remembered how God stretched my Christian Life during Senior Year J My Senior year has been a tough but great year thanks to God!

A lot have happened in just a year span! It was then na nga lang na I realized na, si Hya na pala ang bagong Youth Music Ministry head and just weeks before I turn over the Sunday Music Ministry to Quirah! I can still remember when Lyan Lopez told me to head the music team. Haha! I wasn’t ready that time but God wanted me to because He is up to something great! So much pressure came to me, syempre ikaw ang ministry head! Eh that time, I’m dealing with school stuffs like RESEARCH PAPER WRITING, MEDICAL-SURGICAL NURSING, RLE EXPOSURE at the HOSPITALS and many more. The more the pressure came, the more I trusted God to help me! And it turned out that God has really stretched my Faith and my Commitment to Him! It also made made me realize that everything that I accomplished was not because of me, but BY HIS GRACE!

Naexcite tuloy ako on how God would stretch out Medith’s Christian Life and for sure, just like what happened to me, she would be super thankful that God made these things happen to her! J
