DAY13: OUR COMMISSION

18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

When Jesus returned from heaven after rising from the dead, He didn’t leave His followers empty -handed. He left them a commission to share the Good News and to make disciples of all nations. His work didn’t stop with just a few. In fact, it was only the beginning of the work of God because He did assure His disciples that power was going to accompany them as they follow this commission (Mark 16:17,18).

After 2,000 years when this commission was given, it lives on and still is what Jesus is asking His followersto do—make disciples. The gospel wasn’t meant to bless a few lives; it was meant to be passed on from one person to another until all people have heard of it. Remember, follower of God, this too is your commission.

I just finished reading Accidental Missionary by Steve Murrel. It’s a highly recommended book for people at Victory especially if you want to Honor God and make disciples! It was then that I discovered that the topic for today’s devotional is about THE GREAT COMMISSION!

If there is one thing that I am admitting in this Christian walk of mine, it’s about my calling in making disciples! Whether I’ll be a fulltime campus minister, a pastor, a doctor or just a nurse, my calling is still to go and make disciples! That is why I am secured that whether I choose to serve God in fulltime or in working in the field of health, I will fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION because it’s not just God’s commission but ours too!

I always remember Pastor CJ Nunag telling how passionate he is for the young people! And one thing that I admire the most about people at Victory is their passion to reach the next generation. As what I have texted moments ago through a group message, “I am always thankful for people that believed and trusted in me” and I think now is the time for me to also find someone whom I will believe and trust! I know I’m still young, I just turned 20 last march but now is the time to reach the next generation! Not tomorrow (exception siguro pag gabi na. haha), not four months more but NOW! J

As I saw new people that attended on our first GEAR-UP YOUTH SERVICE last Wednesday, I just couldn’t help but be excited for more! I met a guy named WENDELL who is a freshmen student! He also graduated at Quezon National High School and it was then that I discovered that he is a cousin of my KAPATID, NIKKI VERA HIDALGO :D. at present, I’m currently praying for him. He’s already a Christian but somehow, got lost in his way, I know that he needs someone who’s going to believe and trust in him and I think God will use me to create a strong love for JESUS in his heart J

Just a moment ago, I just had a text conversation with ADRIAN RANAS, one of our former high school students at QNHS who’s currently at Southern Luzon State University. He’s kinda experiencing something that is stirring up his faith in God. Few days before the conversation, I am sensing something different on this guy so I just prayed and it was just moments ago that he opened something to me, much more like a spiritual exhaustion or something. I gave a helping hand and told him that we should talk about this straight thing tomorrow. He also needs someone who will trust and believe in him!

God, I felt the need to help these people! Use me as your instrument to make you famous in the lives of these people! I pray that all the more, they will continue to make you the Lord and savior of their lives! J God, take control, it’s all for you!
