A REBELUTIONARY THING! :D

I just finished reading “DO HARD THINGS” (again!). This book isn’t really an ordinary teen book! In fact, according to Randy Alcorn, this book “Will prove to be one of the most life-changing and culture-changing books of this generation”. Once again, after reading this book for the second time, I felt recharged and energized. Right now, I can really feel the DNA of a rebelutionary flowing over me! J

Throughout the whole “reading thing”, I really learned a lot! Right now, I also want to make my own rebelutionary plan (I'll post it after formulating one). J The book stirred up the passion inside of me to really DO HARD THINGS! it made me realize that nothing is impossible with God! I was encouraged on one phrase that was written by a 16 year old in the book:

Nothing is impossible with God! If you have a passion or a desire
to do something for God, don't say "It's impossible," and close the door for
doubt or fear. God can do it, and he may want to do it through you! Don't
underestimate him. He can far exceed your expectations!!!
-Lelie Reavely;
rebelutionary

I am so blessed and encouraged by the testimonies of different teenagers that were featured in this book! I know that this is just the start! If these guys were able to do things what they could've imagine at their young age, what more could I? :D

After reading “do hard things”, I’m about to read Alex and Bret Harris’ 2nd book entitled “start here”. I'm now excited for this whole new adventure this book is going to unfold! As I read this book, I’m praying for an extreme empowerment and application after reading it. I know that bigger challenges will come as my spiritual walk with God continues! Yes, it will be hard! But I’m a rebelutionary now! I do hard things! :D

A CALL TO TRUST; I SURRENDER!! :D

VCF all over Metro Manila started this new series entitled Double Calls 2 weeks ago. Here in Victory Lucena; it started 2 weeks after..

Saying a person’s name twice, according to Hebrew culture, signified emphasis on the one being called. In the same way, God called the attention of three different people in the Bible because of three specific things that He is also calling us to do.”

As I sat at the service this afternoon at VCF Lucena and listen to Pastor Ed Ty’s preaching, I was really pondering to God, “Lord, If you’re going to call me the same way you have called them, how will I be able to respond to that calling? How will I know if it’s really you who’s calling me? K

The series will show three characters from the bible that had emphasis to their calling when they’re name was spoken twice in the scripture; “Abraham, Abraham”, “Moses, Moses” and “Martha, Martha”. As I listened to the message for the 2nd time around (I already heard the message thru the podcast), I was really amazed by Abraham’s service, commitment and faith to God. Imagine, he waited for 25 years for Isaac and yet, he was willing to sacrifice him during the time that he was tested. As I listened more to the preaching, deep down inside of me, I sensed that God is tellin’ me the same way. There are lots of Isaac in my life; things that I treasure that God wants me to surrender to Him. For me, it might be as valuable to me like Isaac to Abrahan but I think God is tellin’ me to offer it all as a burnt offering. I know it wouldn’t come back but i need to follow God's command. To end the story, the angel of the Lord stopped Abraham from offering Isaac and God provided a replacement as an offering. I remembered what God did to my finances during the World Conference, after I gave everything I had to my tithes and offering, God poured out so much finances that I even had "more than enough" during EN2010.

As I raised my hand during the altar call, I just couldn’t help but cry out to God! I told Him silently, “Here it is Lord! For so long I have kept this but right now, I’m giving it all to you. I pray that you help me overcome these things, as I surrender these wholeheartedly to you. I won’t be living by sight anymore, teach me O Lord, as I offer everything to you, to really be able to live by faith, entrusting everything to you”

Right now, my prayer is to be sensitive enough to recognize the calling that God has placed in my life. Now that i’ve heard Abraham’s story, I wonder what would be mine. I wonder how I will respond to God when it’s my turn to be called. “Kristian, kristian!” I still can’t hear it! What about you, can you hear yours?? J

FUNNY STORY ABOUT INSISTING DEATH

This is a message from a friend of mine, Alyssa Marie Mijares on facebook. As I got inspired with this, hope you too will be inspired as you read this!! :D

My father has his own funny story about insisting death. Hope this one's going to inspire ya all! God bless. ;-)

Before his emergency dialysis (the first session), he had a couple of sleepless nights due to anemia (well, people with kidney diseases have difficulty maintaining normal hemoglobin level). Those were the nights he was suffering from extreme blood intoxication (he can’t eat, vomiting after each meal and breathing difficulties). One night, while he was awake for hours, he started praying for God to take his life away so the next morning everything will be over (no more pain, no more sufferings). After a four-hour prayer, he went back to bed practicing how he would place his hands when he dies. Everything’s almost perfect but there's still one prob-- he can't sleep (insomnia due to anemia). he said, "teka, Lord, pano ako mamatay? e hindi naman pumupikit mata ko?" many times he tried to snatch some sleep but he failed. The next day he decided to finally undergo dialysis which he greatly refused for the longest time. After the first session, he was finally granted his first good sleep.

lesson?
"Only God knows why He does what He does. His plans will always prevail."

"Alam ko may plan pa talaga siya para sakin. Pag hindi pa kailangan, hindi pa kailangan. Wag ipagplitan."
-Emmanuel S. Mijares
(Chronic Kidney Disease Patient)

P.S.
My dad has fully recovered. He is continuously serving God as part of the CFC’s Music Team (guitarist and vocalist). We are planning for his transplant soon. Please pray with us for the success of this operation.

DO HARD THINGS!! :D

Yaaaaay! Finally! I have my own “DO HARD THINGS” book. J

I can still remember the huge impact that this book imparted to me last summer vacation! It made me realize that at my young age (19 is still young! J), I could be able to do things beyond what I can imagine.

The memories are still fresh! J I first read this book when I was on my last week at Manila during our 2010 BSN Summer Affiliation Days. I was indeed refreshed, challenged and was empowered to DO HARD THINGS by the great testimonies that the Authors pointed out in the book. I was really thankful to Krystle Jove Yague (from Victory Pioneer) for letting me have a chance to read it and experience the feeling of being a REBELUTIONARY! J

Right now, as I read DO HARD THINGS once again, I’m really excited for another huge impartation and an awesome refreshment and a great empowerment that this book is gonna divulge to me J. Thank you very much to Jennybelle Abalos (from Victory Lucban) for blessing me this BOOK! J

GO TEAM! :D

DEAR AUGUST

As you can see, the month of July has just ended. It was really a challenging one for me but I’m so thankful to God that He made me learn something out of all the dealings that occurred. I am also happy to see that my decisions made a great impact on my current standing as a Christian; that is of course with the help of God as the controller of my timeline. J I know it’s gonna be a busier and more perplexing month for me considering the fact that our midterm topic on Medical-Surgical Nursing is on the Neurological and Endocrine System which is a very long topic K. (Lol) Looks like I’ll have more bonding moments with Nescafe (walang starbucks sa Lucena.. haha)

Since June, I’ve been really in a period of adjustment on being a Level IV student of the BSN course and can say that as of now, I’m think I’m moving on to the next level. J Sad to say, my Duty days are moved to the 2-10 shift so there wouldn’t be any Youth Services for me L; I guess I’ll be focusing on Sunday service for the mean time. As I relied on God last month, I’m quite excited to depend on Him this month. Things will be much more challenging than it was but no biggies at all, I have a GREAT GOD who can turn things upside down J. I also hope that the busy month wouldn’t be selfish enough not to allow me finish the Christian books I’m about to read! J

a first glimpse of August 1 (i'm not VAIN!!!J)

Lovelots,

Kristian Louis
