RE-DISCIPLINE

As I glance over my old ENLI I booklets (kakamiss), I was led close to the topic about spiritual disciplines. As I open it, I found out that there were no notes that were written entirely on the brochure, so I started reading again the content of the booklet. J

Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness

1 timothy 4:7

The spiritual disciplines begin as a decision, and they continue as a lifetime habit. It should be done with a decision to do things every single day no matter how ordinary it is. The goal of spiritual life is the experience and enjoyment of active relationship with God in all areas of daily life. J

I knew I was walking at the right path; I’m having my quiet time every day and I commune a lot to God thru praying. But somehow along the way, I got distracted by other things which I considered later as attacks from the enemy.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “if you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples”

John 8:31

As I meditate on session 1, I was really reminded of the content of the topic. Even though it was an introduction to the topic Spiritual Disciplines, I realized that God wanted me to re-discipline myself spiritually. I also realized that upon disciplining (myself), I should be willing to do it no matter what consequence it may take me to. JJJ

Discipline is synonymous to Correction. As a person is disciplined, he or she must develop the right habits to be corrected. Through this session, I was also reminded on the steps in developing right habits:

· Discontinue wrong habits

· Put God first in your life

· Commit a specific place and specific time to meet with God everyday

As I ponder on these steps, I remembered that the booklet was given to us after the topic ended due to lack of stock. So, I think there was a reason why I didn’t answered the blank pages on the booklet J
